Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that defies usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the official release, "An unusual meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of prohibited rituals and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden group.
The mission concentrates on "bizarre trials and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will receive an unique katana together with multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Content
This patch also introduces the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
